Philanthropy Awards Ceremony 2018 Recap
December 5th 2018, we held our annual Healthcare Foundation’s Philanthropy Award Ceremony in the Jackson Theater at the Sonoma Country Day School. The evening’s reception and the awardees speeches resonated with everyone in attendance.
Congratulations to Wetzel Community Leadership Honoree John Jordan, Spirit of Wetzel Honorees Ariel and Tim Kelley and Community Health Advocate Award honoree Dr. David Anderson. “The Healthcare Foundation’s work with mental health strikes a particular chord with me, Mental health has long been stigmatized and caused untold suffering not just for the victims but for their families as well,” said John Jordan.
Ariel and Tim Kelley used their time on the podium to offer a match of $10,000 for those would join them in becoming Healthcare Heroes with a 3-year unrestricted commitment of any amount to support the work of the Healthcare Foundation. The enthusiasm of making a difference in their community was met immediately by generous donors in attendance. Each of the awardees are regarded highly in our community which was apparent in our record number of attendees this year. Ariel Kelley stated “What the Healthcare Foundation is doing to take a data driven approach to kindergarten readiness and how we can come together to get children ready for kindergarten is going to have a huge impact on our next generation of community members.”
Dr. Dave Anderson reflected on his long time involvement with the Healthcare Foundation and the hospitals and clinics that we have supported over the years. “The Healthcare Foundation has really improved health access and made it more accessible for people to get the care they need in our community” said Dr. Anderson.
