Wanda Tapia-Thomsen

Mrs. Wanda Tapia-Thomsen is a retiree from the University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE), where she served for 29 years in the Family Nutrition & Consumer Sciences, Horticultural and 4-H Departments. In addition to being a Co-founder she is also the former Executive Director/CEO of Latino Service Providers (LSP), from which position she retired in 2018. Her past coordinating efforts include work with the Latino Health Forum, Asian Health Forum, Beginning Farmer & Rancher Program, 5-a-Day Power Play Campaign, and the Childhood Obesity Coalition. She is an experienced project evaluator and has worked with the Kellogg Foundation’s California Food, Fiber, Futures (CF3) Project for the state of California. She currently serves on the Latino Advisory Council/LBC and is a member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. She is a native of Sonoma County, where she resides with her husband Richard. Wanda has four adult children and six grandchildren. Her favorite activities include bike riding, painting, playtime with grandson, and spiritual development.
