Amy Hunsberger

Treasurer

Amy Hunsberger’s interest in healthcare runs deep. After completing her undergraduate degree in finance at the University of Texas at Austin and earning her MBA from the University of Houston Clear Lake, she began her professional career as the Director of Marketing and Planning for the 400-physician faculty practice plan at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She served in a similar role at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston before returning to law school. In these roles, she gained an understanding of the complexity and intractable inequity of our country’s healthcare system, and a commitment to improving it. After receiving her law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law, Amy joined the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Office of General Counsel, where she has served for over 20 years as legal counsel to the agency that administers the Medicare and Medicaid programs as well as the Affordable Care Act. Amy lives in Windsor with her husband, Christopher, and works remotely in Washington, D.C., with her trusty Wheaten Terrier by her side. She also serves on the board of Goodwill Industries of the Redwood Empire.
