You may be feeling anxious about the spread of the novel coronavirus disease COVID-19. Given the seriousness of the disease and the media attention it’s attracted, we understand your feelings. We at the Healthcare Foundation want to help you feel prepared, and to make sure you have the latest information. We’ve compiled some resources below to help you stay up-to-date, and to learn how to minimize your exposure and prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other illnesses. We are constantly curating and updating this list, so please check back frequently for new and important resources.

General Resources and Local Information:
- Call 211 for coronavirus information, text “COVID19” to 211211, or visit the 211 website.
- Wildfire smoke can make you more prone to lung infections, including COVID-19. To make sure you’re prepared for fire season, check out the CDC’s page on Wildfire Smoke and COVID-19.
- Join the COVID-19 Sonoma & Marin Mutual Aid group on Facebook
- Sonoma County Emergency & Preparedness’ page on COVID-19 – their General Disaster Preparedness Page is also helpful.
- Centers for Disease Control’s COVID-19 site – their FAQ is also helpful, and they post weekly updates of emerging science regarding COVID-19 and a great list of maps and charts to track COVID-19 trends in America
- City of Healdsburg’s news page has updates on local coronavirus response
- Our World in Data has a resource page for COVID-19, with tons of data and daily updates.
- The LA Times has created a fantastic graphic of real-time vaccination efforts by county in California
Local Services:
- NAMI Sonoma County’s mental health warmline remains operational. If you or your loved ones need emotional support, guidance, or mental health resource referrals, you can reach NAMI by calling (866) 960-6264 or e-mailing info@namisoco.org.
- Sonoma County Behavioral Health has launched a COVID-19 Mental Health Warm Line at (707) 565-2652. This free and private warm line is open seven days a week between 10AM and 7PM, and is served by English- and Spanish-speaking staff.
- Mental Health Association of San Francisco has a Peer-Run Warm Line which you can access by phone at 1-855-845-7415 or via IM Chat.
- Redwood Empire Food Bank (food finder here) and Sonoma Family Meal are working hard to distribute food and meals to our community’s most vulnerable members.
- Corazon Healdsburg is committed to helping local families in times of distress and need. If you need assistance, you can contact them by e-mail at info@corazonhealdsburg.org, by phone at (707) 395-0938, and by Facebook message at facebook.com/Corazonhealdsburg.
- If you’re an immigrant living in California, the State’s Guide for Immigrant Californians will help you stay safe and informed.
- Catholic Charities of Santa Rosa offers a wide variety of resources at their COVID-19 page, including food distribution, help enrolling in food stamps, immigration consultations, homeless services, and more.
- Community Action Partnership Sonoma can help with rental assistance and food gift cards. Call them at 707-544-6911.
- Mon Ami offers phone calls, grocery runs, tech support, and virtual concerts to seniors isolated by COVID-19. Call their hotline at (650) 267-2474 or check out their website.
- Jewish Community Free Clinic is offering on-site medication pickups at pre-arranged times—just call 707-585-7780 and leave a message. They’re also offering up to 8 free sessions of bilingual mental health services.
- St. Joseph Health Dental Clinic is accepting patients (adults and children) with urgent dental needs. For more information, call their bilingual front desk at 707-547-2221.
- California LifeLine can provide discounted home and cell phone service to qualified households. Check out their website (versión en Español aquí), or call them at 1-866-272-0349 (English) or 1-866-272-0350 (Español).
- Restaurants Care is offering help for restaurant workers who are either personally affected by a COVID-19 diagnosis or out-of-work for 3+ weeks due to restaurant closure.
- If you’re a business owner or employee of a business that has been affected by COVID-19, the Sonoma County Economic Development Board has an excellent guide to business and employee assistance.
- Sonoma Community Resilience has gathered a list of Guided Wellness Experiences – these short videos take you through simple but powerful experiences that calm your mind and help reduce the effects of stress and trauma.
- If you’re a senior looking for a prescription delivery service, Caring.com has you covered. This page will provide you with the top prescription delivery services, along with info about financial assistance options and a guide to choosing the best service for you.
- After dedicating themselves to serving their country, many veterans face mental health issues. The Camp Lejeune Claims Center provides resources for veterans and their families, so that those struggling with mental health issues can find the support they deserve. Check out their mental health guide here.

- Early Childhood Development Action Network has a huge list of early-childhood-focused COVID-19 resources
- Child Trends: Resources for Supporting Children’s Emotional Well-Being during the COVID-19 Pandemic
- National Association of School Psychologists has advice for talking to children about COVID-19
- Teach.com has a great list of 120 Digital Resources for Home Schooling.
- For those of you with toddlers, Zero to Three has some great coronavirus tips and links here
- Harvard’s Center on the Developing Child has an Activities Guide for developing executive function skills for children of all ages—from infancy to adolescence
- Kinedu is a baby development app with age-appropriate activities for babies and toddlers, and Vroom is a set of tools and resources (including a mobile app) to turn everyday moments with your child into brain-building moments.
- Summer is here, and the kids are going to want to play outside. Learn how to keep them safe with Reviews.com’s Outdoor Safety Tips for Children.
- As the world reopens and kids get back into their regular routines, many parents have started the carpooling routine as well. Bankrate.com has created a carpool safety guide, including COVID safety tips and links to state-by-state safety guidelines.
- Slumber Yard has a helpful list of 34 Self-Care Tips to do Before Bedtime.
- The Robert Woods Johnson Foundation details how communities can support children and families through the impact of COVID-19.
- The Aces Aware Initiative provides great insight to COVID-19 and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)
- According to NPR, Dr. Anthony Fauci projects that clinical trials for vaccinating younger children will be complete by late 2021. The CDC also has information on COVID-19 vaccines for children and teens.
Issues:
- Futures Without Violence has COVID-19 information and resources for survivors of domestic violence
- Safety.com has also put together a comprehensive guide to finding help from domestic violence
- Tech advancement has made it easy for domestic abusers to monitor and harrass their victims–and harder for their victims to seek help safely. Allconnect.com has assembled a guide to tech safety for victims and survivors of domestic violence.
- The Simple Dollar has a great guide on How victims of domestic violence can find transitional housing.
- The Family Justice Center is temporarily closed, but will continue to provide essential services by phone. You can reach their YWCA Domestic Violence Hotline at (707) 546-1234, their Verity Rape Crisis Hotline at (707) 545-7273, and their Homeless Outreach Services Team at (855) 707-4678.
- CDC’s Interim Guidance for Homeless Service Providers to Respond to COVID-19
- National Low Income Housing Coalition has information about Coronavirus and Housing/Homelessness
- Sunshine Behavioral Health has an excellent guide to telehealth resources for addiction recovery. Also be sure to check out SAMHSA’s list of virtual substance abuse recovery programs.
- The Recovery Alliance is offering a teletherapy program for addiction and mental health, including one-on-one counseling, group therapy, and various online services with licensed professionals.
- RehabSpot also has an excellent page for rehab resources during the pandemic.
- Elder abuse in nursing takes many forms, including physical and emotional abuse, financial exploitation, and neglect. Visit the Nursing Home Abuse Center’s website to learn about the warning signs of elder abuse, and what you can do about it.
