Healdsburg District Hospital Moves Forward With Partnership With Providence St. Joseph Health

Healdsburg District Hospital has found a path forward in partnership with Providence St. Joseph Health.

Congratulations to Healdsburg District Hospital Board President Erin Gore, the whole board of directors, CEO Jim Schuessler, and all the doctors and staff for finding a positive path forward with a secular branch of Providence St. Joseph Health. The partnership, Gore says, is the best solution to keeping the hospital open, given the current economic challenges and the seismic upgrades required over the next ten years. The big winner? Our community. This heroic effort has taken years of negotiations and we salute all those involved for their perseverance and patience to arrive at an equitable plan that will be on the November ballot (as Ballot Measure BB) for voter approval.

The Healthcare Foundation looks forward to promoting HDH’s campaign to educate the community in the coming weeks and months about the importance of the merger to the hospital’s future. The doctors and staff at HDH have provided high quality, compassionate healthcare to our community for 115 years.

There will be three community meetings (Monday, Aug. 17, 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 18, 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 19, 5:30 p.m.) to discuss the plan and Measure BB. You can join on Zoom by clicking this link or dialing 1-699-900-6833 – the meeting ID is 971-2718-8159. We encourage all who are interested in learning more to attend.
