Ann Elston

Secretary

Although she was a civil litigator in San Francisco for more than 35 years, Ann Elston has deep roots in rural communities, beginning with her childhood on a family farm in Iowa. Ann received her Juris Doctor (JD) from the University of San Francisco in 1979. She and Larry Lossing, her husband and law partner in Lossing & Elston, have owned a ranch near Cloverdale for 30 years. It has been their primary home for 10 years. She was a founding member of La Familia Sana, a nonprofit focusing on helping the Latinx community in emergencies and longer-term aid, and is on the board of AVFilm Presents. While living part-time from 2001 to 2006 with the Tuaregs in Niger, the poorest country in the world, she was inspired by the power of people working together for the survival of all. She carried that lesson home to California.
