Courtney Cochran is Director, Public Relations and Communications for Fetzer Vineyards, where she oversees corporate, brand and sustainability communications for one of the nation’s leading wine marketers. Fetzer Vineyards has been crafting awarded wines for over 50 years, and the portfolio today includes well-known California labels Fetzer, 1000 Stories, and Bonterra Organic Vineyards, the 2016 Wine Enthusiast American Winery of the Year. Part of global winery Viña Concha y Toro, Fetzer Vineyards also markets iconic South American selections such as Chile’s most-acclaimed wine, Don Melchor, and the Marques de Casa Concha, Casillero del Diabloand Cono Sur labels from Chile, in addition to Argentina’s Eolo and Trivento Reserve.

In 2017, Cochran led development of Fetzer Vineyards’ debut corporate consciousness report, Road to Regeneration. The same year, the company was recognized by the United Nations with a Lighthouse Momentum for Change award for the winery’s pacesetting achievements in low-carbon business practices. Beginning in 2019, Cochran built on her knowledge of regenerative development and climate policy initiatives to represent Fetzer Vineyards as a business advocate for climate-smart legislation in a variety of arenas. She was among representatives from 75 leading businesses to meet with a bipartisan group of lawmakers on Capitol Hill as part of 2019’s historic Lawmaker Education and Advocacy Day (LEAD on Climate). Cochran was a legislative meeting facilitator at the 2020 LEAD, conducted virtually,which drew representatives from over 300 businesses to advocate for climate-smart policies in the wake of theCOVID-19 crisis.

Prior to joining Fetzer Vineyards in December 2015, Cochran was a Communications Strategist at E&J Gallo Winery and founded HIP TASTES Communications in San Francisco, where she collaborated on communications and marketing initiatives for a variety of wine, fine beverage and technology clients. Cochran holds a Sommelier Diploma from the International Sommelier Guild and is also a Certified Sommelier with the American Court of Master Sommeliers. She holds a BA from the University of California,Los Angeles and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. She has presented on wine business trends and related topics in the Wine Business Speaker Series at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, at UCLA Alumni Day, and at Hotel Ezra Cornell. She is the author of the awarded book, Hip Tastes: The Fresh Guide to Wine (2007), published by Viking Studio, an imprint of Penguin Group, USA.

Cochran resides with her family in Healdsburg, California, where she is a member of the Board of Directors of the Healthcare Foundation Northern Sonoma County.
